Always thought direct flights were the only way to go lol, but that's a solid tip.

Honestly I used to be that person who would only look at direct flights. Paid way too much to get to Barcelona once because I refused to consider a train from Madrid. My bank account still cries about it. Now I check nearby airports and rail connections like it's my part time job. The savings are too real to ignore.
