The bus pass in Lisbon that changed my whole approach to city travel

Got caught in a downpour near the Alfama district last March and ducked into a metro station, ended up buying the 24-hour Viva Viagem card for 6.50 euros instead of another single ticket. That card covered the tram, the ferry to Cais do Sodre, and the suburban train to Belem, which would have cost me over 20 euros if I paid per ride. Now I'm wondering if the 72-hour pass for 10.50 euros is worth it for quick trips, or if the daily card plus walking is still the smarter play. Anyone else had a moment where one transit card changed how they budget for a whole city?

I read somewhere that the math only works out if you're riding 3+ times a day, but the 72-hour pass basically pays for itself if you're doing one longer day trip. The ferry ride alone is what sold me on those cards, honestly.
