Appreciation post: my $3 paper budget book beat the $12/month app I tried for 8 months
I downloaded a budgeting app back in January and paid $12 a month for it. That is $96 so far. Last month my pen died so I grabbed a $3 notebook from Walgreens on a Tuesday and started writing my spending down by hand. The app let me set up 40 categories and I never once looked at them, but the notebook only fits one page a week and I actually fill it out. I caught a $19 subscription I forgot about on day 3 because writing it out made it feel real. The app would have just sorted it into a category and I would have scrolled past it. Has anyone else ditched an app for paper and stuck with it, or did you go crawling back?
