Found a trick for using frozen veggies that actually cuts waste
I started freezing leftover fresh veggies on a baking sheet before bagging them, and now I don't throw out half my grocery haul. It's been three weeks and my bin has maybe one sad onion peel in it. Anyone else do this or am I overthinking it?

lol is this really that deep though? i mean yeah frozen veggies are fine but a baking sheet step feels like extra work for something that lasts months in a bag anyway. i just toss stuff in a ziploc and call it a day, never had a problem with it going bad or anything. seems like a lot of effort to avoid tossing one onion peel tbh

Never had a problem with it going bad" is exactly what gets me though. You probably did have problems, you just didn't notice because the freezer burn didn't ruin the bag all at once. Once you start doing the baking sheet trick you realize how much better stuff keeps, and how much less of it you end up pitching. Plus the sheet method means your veggies don't freeze into one giant ice block you have to chisel apart for stir fry. But yeah, if you're already eating everything fast enough, more power to you. I just got tired of hacking up a frozen brick with a butter knife.
