Just realized how much I save by air-drying clothes
In my experience, skipping the dryer cuts my electric bill by a chunk. Your mileage may vary, but it's worth a try.

Wait, hold on. You save enough on your bill to actually notice it? My dryer must be broken in a fancy way, because I swear it costs less than running my fridge. Are you comparing it to like, leaving every light on all month? That's wild.

Monthly savings hit about fifteen bucks for me. That's from swapping maybe three dryer loads a week to just hanging things up. Over a year, it adds up to a decent phone bill or a tank of gas. Dryers are one of the bigger energy hogs in a house, right after the fridge and AC.

Yeah, it really depends on your rates and your dryer. An old electric dryer on a high rate plan can be a wallet killer, especially if you run it a lot. The fridge runs all the time but it's gotten way more efficient, while dryers just blast heat for a solid hour. I started line drying most stuff and my summer bills definitely dropped more than I expected. It's one of those things you don't notice until you stop doing it.
