My $200 emergency fund got wiped out by a blown water heater in Kalamazoo
Water heater gave out last Tuesday and flooded half my basement. I had $200 set aside in my "emergency" envelope and the plumber quoted $850 to swap it out. I ended up putting the rest on a card I swore I would not touch, which stings more than the cold showers did. How much do you all keep in a real emergency fund before you call it enough?
