My dryer broke down two weeks ago and I almost bought a new one before realizing the fix was a $12 belt
After the drum stopped spinning I called three repair shops who quoted $150 to $200 just to look at it, so I watched a YouTube video and replaced the belt myself in 45 minutes, has anyone else fixed a major appliance for under $20?

The $12 belt trick saved my dryer too after I found the local appliance parts store had it in stock for like $8. No joke it took longer to pry the old belt off than it did to loop the new one around the drum and tension pulley. You feel like a genius when you spend 45 minutes and $12 instead of $200 on a service call.

Who even knew dryers had belts until they snap, right @the_henry?
Sure beats paying some guy $200 to show up and do the same thing in ten minutes.
Nothing like that feeling of being a cheap genius while covered in lint and questioning your life choices for 45 minutes.
