My grocery bill in Phoenix dropped by $40 a week after one simple change

I was at the Fry's on 7th Street, staring at my cart full of name-brand stuff. The total was about to hit $150, which felt normal. The cashier, an older guy, just said 'you know, the store brand beans are from the same canner, right?' I started buying store brand for everything except a couple items. It cut my weekly bill from around $150 to $110 without changing what I eat. Has anyone else found a single switch that made a big dent?

Wait, which items did you keep name-brand?

Yeah, I kept the name brand for like, ketchup and cereal. But honestly, it's wild how much marketing makes us pay extra for the same stuff. I see it with over the counter meds too, the store brand allergy pills are literally the same drug for half the price.
