My sister spent $340 on a coffee habit and I said nothing
My sister pulled up her banking app at a diner in Bend last month and saw she was dropping $85 a week at drive thrus, mostly coffee and breakfast sandwiches on her way to work. I wanted to say something but held back. Then she mentioned she was short on rent by $200 that same week. I finally asked if she had ever added up those little stops and she just went quiet for a second. She cut it to twice a week and covered her rent gap with room to spare the next month. So here is my take: the small stuff is not little, it is death by a thousand swipes. Anyone here ever had to nudge a family member about their spending without starting a fight?
