My sister told me my 'fun money' category was way too vague to track
She said to split it into 'coffee', 'lunch out', and 'actual fun' with a $50 cap each, so I tried it last month and saved $75. How do you guys break down your flexible spending?

That's a smart way to make you think twice before spending. I do something similar but split mine into "weekday treats" and "weekend fun" to keep weekend splurges from wrecking the whole budget.

My husband and I tried the envelope cash system for a few months last year. We labeled one for "coffee out" and another for "random takeout." It worked until we kept borrowing from the grocery envelope, which sort of defeated the whole point. We're back to just trying to check the bank app every morning.
