Question about my $7 spreadsheet that saved me $340 last month
Everyone in this group keeps saying you need an app for budgeting. I tried three of them and spent more time sorting categories than saving money. What finally worked was a plain spreadsheet on my laptop. I tracked every dollar for 30 days, and on the last Friday of the month I sat down at my kitchen table in Cincinnati and went through it line by line. Found $340 I was wasting. $90 on subscription boxes, $60 on lunches out, $190 on random stuff from the grocery store I never ate. I put every bill on autopay and set a hard cash limit for the week. Two months in and I have $700 in savings. The apps wanted $12 a month for features I figured out myself in one night. Has anyone else gone back to pen, paper or a basic sheet after trying the fancy tools?
