Shoutout to the guy at the Portland DMV who told me to just renew online

I was waiting in line for over an hour to renew my car tabs, and the guy behind me mentioned he does it online and saves the $10 'convenience' fee they charge in person. I went home, did it in five minutes, and saved the cash. Anyone else find a simple fee like that they can cut out?

That "convenience" fee is just the price for watching the slowest show on earth.

Exactly, it's like paying extra to watch paint dry. The whole point of a convenience fee should be for speed, not for waiting in a digital line that never moves. They get you with the promise of a quick checkout, then make you stare at a loading spinner for ten minutes.
