That $60 budgeting app I swore was a scam actually saved me $200 in three months

My buddy kept pushing this app called YNAB, said it changed his whole financial life. I figured it was just another overpriced spreadsheet with pretty colors. But I tried the free trial back in January and it forced me to actually assign every dollar before I spent it. I caught myself skipping three takeout orders in February just because I saw my dining out budget was already tapped out. Has anyone else had a budgeting tool that seemed gimmicky but ended up working for real?

Started using a similar app and realized my coffee habit was basically funding a small country's GDP... now I budget for four cups a week and still feel broke, ha.
