The coffee shop near my office finally got me to bring lunch from home

I used to think meal prepping was for people with way more free time than me... I worked near a row of restaurants downtown and just grabbed a $12 sandwich every day without thinking. Then last month I added up my credit card statements and realized I was spending almost $250 a month on just lunch. That hit me right in the gut. One Tuesday I walked past the sandwich place and saw the line out the door and just snapped... I went home that night and made three days of pasta salad with some grilled chicken. The first week I saved like $50 and honestly the food tasted better. Now I pack lunch Sunday night and it takes maybe 20 minutes. Has anyone else had a moment where just a simple number on a receipt changed your whole routine?

Wait, you spent $250 in one month on just lunch? That is wild to me, I never would have thought it added up that fast.

That line about the $12 sandwich hit me close to home. A buddy of mine had the same wake-up call when he saw his restaurant bills stacking up, started packing leftovers and said his wallet felt a lot heavier within a month.
