The grocery pickup cancel that saved me $62 last Tuesday
I had a pickup order set for $148 at the Kroger on Main Street. Two days before the slot, they sent a notice that half my items were out of stock. I got annoyed and canceled the whole thing, then just shopped with a list I wrote on my phone. Total came to $86 and I wasted way less food because I actually planned meals around what I bought. The canceled order forced me to slow down and I saw how many random snacks I always added online. Has anyone else had better luck shopping in person after ditching a pickup order?

Honestly that cancellation kind of forced you to reset your whole shopping brain. It’s funny how the convenience of pickup makes you blind to all the little extras you toss in without thinking. I’ve noticed this pattern everywhere, like when people order takeout on autopilot versus actually cooking and seeing what’s in the fridge. Slowing down, even by accident, just makes you more aware of what you’re spending and why. Tbh most of my best grocery runs came after I deleted the app for a week.
