TIL my emergency fund finally hit 5k after 2 years of putting in whatever was left over each week.

It hit me when I checked the account this morning and realized that number means I can actually cover my truck's transmission if it goes, which is a huge weight off my shoulders lol, anyone else have a specific number that made them feel secure?

Ever think about what happens after the truck repair? @ninam76 has a point about other bills, but 5k feels like a good start that could get wiped out fast. I'd be aiming a bit higher for real peace of mind.
