Update: I tracked my coffee spending for a week and the number was wild

I always thought my daily coffee was a small thing, maybe $5 here and there. So I wrote down every single one for seven days, even the gas station cups. It added up to $43. That's over $170 a month just on coffee. I started making a big pot at home and putting it in a thermos. Has anyone else been shocked by a small habit's total cost?

Yeah tracking that stuff is eye opening. Did the same with lunch last year. Was grabbing drive thru or deli sandwiches almost every day. Like $12 a pop. Did the math and nearly choked. Started making big batches of soup or chili on Sundays. Saves a ton and honestly tastes better.

That "nearly choked" feeling is real. Did something similar with coffee. Realized I was dropping like $6 a day just to feel awake. Bought a decent thermos instead.
