Blew $60 on a fancy dotted notebook and went back to a $3 composition book
The pre printed dots and thick paper didn't make my spreads any better, they just made me scared to mess up a $60 book. Anyone else find that cheap notebooks actually keep them journaling more?
Isn't it funny how the price tag changes your whole mindset? I see it with everything, like how people baby their new car and freak out over the first scratch, but the same person will toss a bag of groceries on the hood of a beater without a second thought. The expensive thing ends up owning you instead of the other way around. Same deal with clothes, art supplies, even dishes. You tell yourself the fancy version will make you better at the thing, but mostly it just makes you scared of it. Sometimes the cheap stuff frees you up to actually do the thing you bought it for.
