Found a weird hack for keeping my weekly spread neat without a ruler

I've been bullet journaling for about 2 years now and my weekly layouts always looked wonky cause I can't draw a straight line to save my life. Tried washi tape, tried printing templates, nothing stuck. Last month I started using the edge of an old library card as a guide and it actually works way better than a ruler cause it's thin and doesn't slip. Has anyone else found a random object from around the house that works better than the actual tool?

My old student ID card works perfect for this, same reason - thin enough to see where you're going but stiff enough to actually guide the pen.
