I saw a bullet journal at a coffee shop in Portland that made me rethink my whole system.
The person had a single notebook with no index, no future log, and just rapid logged everything in order with simple bullets. I've always built complex monthly spreads, but seeing that simple, fast system in action last week made me wonder if I'm overcomplicating things. Do you think a super minimal approach can actually work for long term planning?

Can a simple system work if you never look back at old notes?

My old notes are basically a graveyard of forgotten ideas... guess that answers your question.

Laughing at myself here because I've literally found notes I wrote that say "great idea, write this down" and then the rest is blank. Like past me was trying to be helpful but forgot the actual idea part. So yeah, a system works fine if you remember to actually look at your notes before they turn into ancient artifacts. I bet half my old notebooks could be sold as historical fiction. At least I can always blame forgetfulness on future me.
