Just realized my weekly layout was holding me back
I had been using the same horizontal week spread for about 8 months. Two boxes per day, one for tasks and one for notes. It worked fine until I had a week with 4 late shifts at the station and suddenly nothing fit. I switched to a vertical daily log with time slots on the left side. First week felt cramped and I almost went back. But after 3 tries I realized I just needed to give each day its own full page instead of squeezing everything into half boxes. Has anyone else found that changing your layout actually changed how much you get done?

Yeah @angela_park, that blank space feeling goes away once you realize it's just giving your brain room to breathe.

I switched from weekly boxes to a daily two page spread where the left page is for tasks and the right page is for random thoughts and notes. It took me about two weeks to stop missing the old layout because the new one felt wasteful with all that blank space. But after that adjustment period I noticed I was actually finishing more things because I wasn't cramming information into tiny squares. The extra room made it easier to see what needed to get done without feeling cluttered. Sometimes you just need to trust that the awkward phase will pass.
