My sister told me my weekly spread was useless and she was right

I used to cram every single day of the week into one page with tiny boxes for each day. My sister looked at it and said "you're just writing down stuff you already know you're doing, what's the point?" So I switched to a rolling weekly setup where I only log the 3-4 things that actually matter each day. Now I actually use my journal instead of just filling it up to feel productive. Has anyone else gotten blunt feedback that made you completely rework your system?

you're just writing down stuff you already know you're doing, what's the point?" That line hit me hard when I first read it, because I was doing the exact same thing. My old system was basically a calendar with extra ink, not a journal. But what made you decide to trust her feedback instead of just brushing it off? I had a buddy tell me the same thing and I ignored him for months because I thought he didn't "get" my system. It took failing a few deadlines for me to actually change my approach and admit he was right.

Oh man, that stubborn streak is a real beast. My ego was running the show for way too long, thinking my system was some kind of masterpiece while everyone else was just missing the genius of it. Turns out the genius was just me being stubborn and writing down tasks I'd already done. I finally woke up when I missed three deadlines in a row and realized my calendar-journal hybrid was basically just a fancy to-do list for things I'd already checked off. Sometimes you gotta hit rock bottom with your own bad habits before you admit your buddy was right all along.
