My tracker page rebelled against me for a whole month
Started a habit tracker for water intake in January. Drew 31 little squares. Day 4 I forgot to fill one in. So I colored it in with a different pen. Then the next day I used the wrong pen again. By day 12 my page looked like a rainbow mess of half-filled boxes. Spent 2 hours fixing it with correction tape. Has anyone else had a tracker go off the rails like that? How do you recover without starting a new spread?

Honestly, the real problem isn't the wrong pens or the mess. It's that you're treating a habit tracker like a perfect record instead of a tool. Mine fell apart the same way, so I just stopped filling in the old boxes and started using a plain notebook page to jot down a simple checkmark each day. The whole point is to see your progress, not to have a pretty grid. A messy page that shows you're actually drinking water is way better than a clean page that makes you quit.

Exactly. "The whole point is to see your progress, not to have a pretty grid" is the whole truth right there. I did the same thing with my gym log. I bought that fancy weekly spread, color coded it, even bought washi tape for the borders. Quit after two weeks because one missed day made the whole thing look like garbage. Now I just keep a sticky note on my fridge and put a tally mark every time I go. It's ugly as hell but I've got seven marks this week and that's what actually matters.
