My trusty ruler snapped mid-spread this morning

I was setting up my weekly layout for July and my plastic ruler just cracked right down the middle. It was the one I had been using for three years since I started bullet journaling. I had to finish the spread using the edge of a notebook and it came out so crooked. Has anyone found a good metal ruler that doesn't slide around on the paper?

Oh come on, a broken ruler is just a sign you need to upgrade your supplies. Metal rulers are way overrated, they slip and ruin your lines more than plastic ones ever did.

Shook my head reading that. Did you really just call metal rulers overrated? That's like saying a chef's knife is overrated because you can use a butter knife to chop carrots. Plastic rulers warp over time, they get those nicks that catch your pencil tip, and don't even get me started on how they bend if you look at them wrong. A good metal ruler with a cork backing will never slip and it'll outlive you.
