Showerthought: tracking my water heater installs with a simple symbol key, and it fixed my messy weekly spread
I run a two man plumbing crew here in Tucson and my weekly spread was a disaster, tasks would roll over 5 or 6 days straight and I'd lose track of which jobs were quoted versus scheduled. So I made a tiny key in the corner of one page, a circle for quoted, a slash for scheduled, and an X for paid, and I mark the job right in the daily log instead of rewriting it every morning. Three weeks in and I can see at a glance which clients still owe me money, which never happened with my old system. Does anyone else keep a symbol key that small, or do you split jobs onto a separate collections page?
