That conference room whiteboard in Denver changed my monthly layout

I went to a work retreat in Denver last month and noticed a coworker using a tiny whiteboard to map out her week before transferring it to her journal. She said it felt less permanent and let her test spreads without committing. I tried it when I got home and my August layout came together in 20 minutes instead of 2 hours. Now I sketch every monthly spread on a $3 board first and it's saved me from erasing mistakes in my actual notebook. Has anyone else used a dry erase surface as a planning step before touching your journal?

Wait, do you mean I could've been drawing my monthly layouts on a whiteboard this whole time and saving my journal from looking like a secret code mess? lol honestly I used to think that was just extra work, like why not dump it straight in the book? But after ruining two spreads last year with bad spacing and ugly handwriting, I get it now. The erase and redo part is what sells me, I can try a weird box layout or move my habit tracker around without stabbing myself with a correction pen. I borrowed my kid's small board last night and sketched October in like ten minutes, no pressure at all. Definitely kicking myself for judging the method before I tried it.
