The 5-minute daily log finally clicked after I read Ryder's math
I always thought rapid logging was for people with tons of time, so I stuck to weekly spreads for like 3 years. Then I saw a breakdown online that said the average daily log takes under 5 minutes if you keep it to 3 to 5 bullets. That number hit me because I waste way more time than that just redoing my weekly layout every Sunday. Tried it for two weeks in a plain notebook, no fancy spreads, and I actually kept up with it every single day. Has anyone else had that moment where a simple stat made you switch your whole setup?
I read a thing by a guy who tracked his own logs for a month, and his average was like 4 minutes 20 seconds. The part that stuck with me was that most of that time was just writing the date and a header, not the actual notes. Once he dropped the header his time got cut in half again. It made me realize the "setup" part is what eats the clock, not the thinking. Simple numbers like that are weirdly way more convincing than someone just telling you to try it.
