Tried a minimalist weekly spread and it totally bombed

Last month I stripped my weekly layout down to just a simple list and a task tracker. No colors, no washi tape, nothing extra. I thought it would speed me up but I actually forgot half my appointments. Learned that I need at least some visual cues to keep my week straight in my head. Anybody else find that bare bones spreads just don't stick?

Yeah but you're still using lists though, that's not really bare bones.

Actually I gotta disagree with you here. Going bare bones was the best thing I ever did for my planning. I tossed all the extra stuff and just started using a tiny notebook with plain lists and it freed up so much mental space. Maybe it depends on what kind of brain you have? What does your memory need to latch onto exactly?
