Tried using a fountain pen in my bullet journal and it was a total mess

Honestly, I got this nice fountain pen for my birthday last month and thought it would make my journal look super elegant. I filled it with a standard blue ink and started on my new weekly spread. Ngl, it bled right through the paper on the first stroke. I'm using a Leuchtturm1917 notebook, which I thought was good for this stuff. The ink feathered so bad my neat handwriting looked like a blurry smudge. I tried a different page and even let it dry for like 10 minutes, but it just soaked in and made the back of the page unusable. I guess I learned that paper weight and ink type matter way more than I thought. Has anyone else had this happen and found an ink that actually works on thinner journal paper?

Yeah, that "blurry smudge" thing is why I only use cheap ballpoints for my work logs now.

My old Parker pen leaked all over a tax form once.
