Found a Rotary Phone Sign in a Coffee Shop Window in 2025
I was walking down Congress Ave in Austin last week and saw a bulletin board at a cafe advertising a 'vintage phone workshop' with a hand drawn rotary phone, which made me realize I haven't seen one of those actually work in like 15 years. Then I peeked at the tacked up flyer next to it, it listed the price as $40 for a lesson on dialing, and I weirdly got nostalgic for the sound of that clicking wheel. Do any of y'all remember the last time you touched a rotary phone, or is this just a young person thing?

Wait, who's actually teaching these workshops? Is it some Gen Z kid who learned from YouTube or an actual old timer who used to work the switchboard?
