Found a weird fix for my sticky bulletin board at the laundromat

The corkboard near the dryers had this awful residue from old tape and flyers. I tried Goo Gone and it smelled terrible, so I grabbed a lint roller from the vending machine for $1.25 - worked WAY better than I expected and no chemical smell. Anyone else found a random tool that solved a weird board problem?

The one near the dryers at my place had the same sticky mess. I actually used a hair dryer on low heat to soften the gunk and then scraped it off with an old library card. It took maybe ten minutes but left zero residue and cost nothing.

Wait, is anyone else finding these sticker residue things everywhere lately? I had a similar issue with a price tag on a plastic storage bin and tried the rubbing alcohol route like stellat87 mentioned. It worked fine, but I used a makeup remover pad instead of a cloth because that's all I had. Ended up leaving a weird oily film that took forever to wipe off. I think the hair dryer thing sounds smarter if you've got a decent card to scrape with, but maybe keep it moving so you don't melt anything. Honestly, half the time I end up just living with the sticky spot because I get too lazy to deal with it.

Old library card is a good move but careful with the hair dryer on low heat. Plastics on those wall units can warp real easy even at low settings if you hold it too close. I tried that once on a similar sticker residue thing near the dryer at my old place and ended up with a slight bubble in the plastic. Might be safer to just use a little rubbing alcohol on a cloth instead, let it sit for a minute, then scrape with the card. Still free and no risk of melting anything.
