Grocery store corkboard led me to a $40 roof repair

There's this corkboard by the exit at the Safeway on 12th, mostly old tutoring flyers and lost cat photos. Last Tuesday someone pinned a handwritten card saying 'Roof leak fix, $40, call Mike'. I figured it was a scam, but my garage was dripping after the rain. I called, Mike showed up in 20 minutes, climbed up, patched a cracked vent boot, and it's held through two storms since. Has anyone else actually gotten a solid lead off one of those community boards, or did I just get lucky?

Funny timing, my neighbor found a piano tuner on that same board and the guy showed up drunk with a tuning fork.

Last year I woulda said that's an exaggeration, but now I get it after seeing a "pro" show up with one wrench and zero clue what he was doing.
