I finally checked out that 'free piano' flyer at the laundromat
It looked way too good to be true, but I called the number and the guy just wanted it gone from his garage. It's a 1970s Wurlitzer, a little out of tune but all the keys work. Has anyone else actually gotten something decent from a 'curb alert' style note?

Yeah, those flyers can be a goldmine if you're the first to call. I grabbed a solid oak desk that way last year, just had to haul it out of a basement. The trick is to not ask too many questions and show up with a truck fast. Most people just want the thing gone and will give it to whoever seems least likely to flake. That Wurlitzer find is pretty amazing, honestly.

Yeah, the "least likely to flake" part is huge. I got a free washer and dryer set once because I told the lady I could be there in 20 minutes with a buddy and a dolly. She had three other people messaging her but I showed up first so she just gave them to me.
