Just noticed bulletin boards around here always have expired flyers
I was at the library in Cedar Rapids last week and saw a flyer for a garage sale that ended three months ago still up. Then I checked the coffee shop down the street and half their cork board is outdated stuff too. Why do people bother posting if nobody ever takes them down? Has anyone figured out a system for keeping boards fresh without having to check every week?

Oh man, this is SO relatable. I'm basically the KING of forgetting to take down my own flyers - I posted one for a lost cat last year and saw it up at the laundromat six months later. The cat had been home for five months by then and I just looked like a total dingus. @robert275 is right that places usually have policies but nobody follows them because who has time for that? I honestly think we need a designated "flyer fairy" for each neighborhood, someone whose only job is to rip down expired stuff. But that person would probably be me and I'd forget to do it, so we'd be right back where we started.

Well actually most places have a policy to clear boards once a month, they just don't stick to it.
