Just realized I wasted cash on those fancy cork boards
Ngl I went with the expensive cork board from the office supply store thinking it'd hold up better, but the cheap one from the dollar store near Broadway is still going strong after 3 years without a single pushpin hole getting loose. Anyone else find the budget version actually works longer?

Oh man, "fancy cork board from the office supply store" is so real lol. I did the exact same thing with like a 'premium' memo board from a weird boutique in SoHo. Paid forty bucks for it and the cork started crumbling within six months. Meanwhile my grandma's old bulletin board from the 80s that she gave me still holds up everything from pizza coupons to my cat's vet reminders. Sometimes I think the cheap stuff just has less to prove, you know?

Forty bucks for crumbling cork, that's basically paying extra for disappointment with a side of regret. My dad still has this beat up cork board from the 70s that's been through three moves, a garage flood, and somehow still holds up his old tax return reminders like it's nothing. Meanwhile that boutique stuff probably had some fancy description like "artisanal cork sourced from endangered cork trees" or something. Just goes to show that sometimes the ugliest, most basic stuff is secretly the sturdiest thing you'll ever own. Maybe the secret is to buy whatever looks like it was designed by a sad office manager in 1982.
