My neighbor's flyer got me with fake free kittens, half the block showed up
Saw a handwritten note on the cork board at the laundromat on 5th offering free kittens, turned out it was a prank by a kid and 12 of us knocked on that door. Anyone else ever chase a bulletin board lead that was totally bogus, or did I just get lucky with the most awkward Tuesday ever?

...and honestly it was kinda the mom who saved the whole thing, not the kid, at least from what I saw. @richard_roberts80, the kid did eventually come clean but only after his mom made him bring out a tray of juice boxes. The flyer said "free kittens" but the joke was they wrote "kittens" in quotes, like that was supposed to make it obvious. Anyway, one lady brought a cat carrier and another guy had a bag of litter, so nobody left empty handed with embarrassment.
