Rant: I started taking pics of every flyer I saw at the Piggly Wiggly on 3rd, and one corkboard changed my whole week
Last Tuesday I ran into the Piggly Wiggly on 3rd street just to grab ice, and the corkboard by the exit door caught my eye because someone had stapled a bright orange index card right over three old yard sale flyers. I snapped a pic on my phone and moved on, but that night I actually looked at the photo and saw a hand written note about a free upright piano, just come haul it, no catch. I called the number the next morning and the guy said I was the third caller but the first two never showed, so I borrowed a truck from my brother in law and drove 20 minutes to a duplex off Route 9 to get it. Here is the part that got me, the bottom corner of that same board had a tiny tear off tag for a once a month repair cafe at the library, where retired guys fix toasters and lamps for free, so I brought my busted desk fan there this past Saturday. Walking out with a working fan and a free piano felt kind of unreal for a store I usually just buy ice at. So now I check the whole board every time, top to bottom, even behind other papers, because people staple new stuff right on top of stuff that is still live. Did anyone else ever find something huge on a store corkboard that was buried under newer flyers?
