Spotted a flyer for a lost parrot in the laundromat, then saw it on a power line.

I was at the Spin Cycle on 5th Street yesterday and saw a handwritten note about a missing green parrot named Gus. Walking home, I looked up and saw a bright green bird sitting quietly on a wire about a block away. Has anyone else ever actually found something from a bulletin board post?

Found a lost dog once from a flyer at the grocery store. It had a picture and said the dog loved cheese. I saw it a few streets over, called the number, and just sat on the curb offering it bits of my sandwich. The owner came running up, totally crying. Felt good to connect the dots like that.

Did you ever think maybe the dog just liked the freedom?

Five years ago I found someone's lost cat through a Facebook post that mentioned it had a white spot on its left ear. The owner had typed up this huge story about how the cat was a rescue it took months to trust them. I spotted the cat three blocks away hiding under a porch and spent twenty minutes just sitting there letting it sniff my hand before I could grab it. The owner showed up in pajamas and house slippers crying so hard she could barely talk. You gotta understand for some people that animal is the only family they got, and getting them back means the world. Does the dog missing the freedom really outweigh the owner's relief?
