That free pottery class flyer turned out to be legit

I saw this hand-drawn flyer for a free pottery class at a community center on a board near the old library downtown. I figured it was just some scam to sell overpriced supplies, but I went anyway last Saturday. The teacher, Jan, actually let me throw a pot on her wheel for a full hour with no charge. Has anyone else tried something from a random bulletin board that surprised you?

Oh wow, that's awesome! I love hearing when random stuff actually works out. A few months back I grabbed a flyer for a free yoga class at a small studio I never would have found otherwise, and it turned into a regular thing for me. The instructor was just a normal person trying to get the word out, not pushing any expensive packages. It's funny, some of the best finds come from those old school paper flyers nobody pays attention to anymore.
