That laundromat board with the missing pet flyer and the 'stop feeding strays' note
I was at the Suds & Spin on 5th and Monroe last Tuesday, waiting on my dry cycle, and there it was. Someone taped up a detailed lost parrot flyer with a $100 reward, and right below it, a handwritten note that said, 'If you keep leaving seed out, you're attracting rats. Stop.' I stood there for like 5 minutes trying to figure out which side to feel bad for. On one hand, that bird is someone's family member, and people should do what they can to help find it. On the other hand, I get that living near a busy laundromat already has enough pest problems, and one person's kindness can cause a real mess for everyone else. I've seen this tension before, like when someone posts a free couch and three people argue over who gets it in the comments section, but this felt more personal. So what do you all think? Should the bird owner have to respect the neighborhood rules, or does a lost pet override everything until it's found? Has anyone else seen a bulletin board where two postings directly fight each other like that?
