The lost dog flyer that took three weeks to solve

I kept seeing this faded flyer for a missing dachshund near the library, and the phone number was barely legible. I finally called it, only to get a disconnected tone, so I figured the dog was gone. Last week I found a second copy of the same flyer pinned under a coffee shop board, and the number was clear. Turns out the owner moved and the dog has been at the neighbor's house the whole time. Did anyone else chase a bulletin board lead that went nowhere for way too long?
