The note on the laundromat corkboard in Reno made me rethink paper flyers
I always figured paper flyers on a corkboard were a total waste, like who actually reads those things. Then last Tuesday I was killing time at a laundromat on Wells Ave in Reno waiting on a 40 minute wash cycle and actually read the whole board. There was a handwritten index card with tear-off tabs for a lost tortoise named Sheldon, and somebody had pulled off 6 tabs and added a little note saying they saw him near the ditch. That tiny card had more real back and forth than anything I have seen on a phone screen all month. Now I take a photo of every board I pass and I have 23 so far. Has anyone else noticed handwritten cards getting way more replies than printed ones, or is that just a Reno thing?
