Frozen pizza vs. homemade dough, I chose dumb and lost
Last Sunday I told myself I'd finally make pizza dough from scratch, but the recipe called for a 2 hour rise and I was hungry at 6:30. So I grabbed a store-bought frozen pizza instead, but then I thought, nah, I'll just add my own toppings to class it up. I dumped a full jar of artichoke hearts on there without draining them, and the whole thing turned into a soggy, salty mess that stuck to the tray like glue. The oven smoke alarm went off at 450 degrees and I pulled out a half-raw, half-burnt disc that looked like a failed science experiment. Does anyone else ruin a perfectly good convenience meal by trying to improve it, or am I the only one who can't leave well enough alone?

Is it just me, or does every "quick fix" turn into a whole project once we decide it's not good enough as is? I mean, that's basically the story of my whole kitchen, always one extra step away from a smoke alarm.
