Hot take: my smoke alarm is the best cooking timer I own, fight me
Two nights ago I tried to toast a piece of sourdough in the broiler at my apartment in Tucson and walked away for maybe 90 seconds to answer a text. The bread came out looking like a charcoal briquette, the alarm screamed for four minutes, and I just scraped the black off over the sink and ate it anyway because I wasn't about to waste a $6 loaf. Does anyone else just eat the burnt parts instead of starting over, or am I the only gremlin here?
