My neighbor told me to 'just add water' to my dry pancake mix and I ended up with a glue-like blob that stuck to the pan.
She meant to add water slowly, but I dumped in half a cup and stirred until it turned into a rubbery mess that smoked up my whole kitchen last Sunday, has anyone else gotten bad advice from someone who clearly knew better?

Did you at least try to eat it or just toss the whole pan?
