PSA: I laughed at my wife's $4 oven thermometer for 6 months and now I owe her an apology
I burned 11 batches of cookies in our Denver kitchen before I finally put that cheap thing in the oven and found out it ran 40 degrees hot, so has anyone else had a dumb cheap gadget prove them wrong?

Grab an oven thermometer and check yours too, ovens drift over time no matter how much you paid. Cheaper to test it than keep tossing burnt cookies.
