Got roasted by a 12-year-old for my butter robot meme
Made a meme last night about the butter robot asking 'what is my purpose' and some kid in the comments said it was low effort and he could do better with his phone in 5 minutes. I spent like 40 minutes on that thing in GIMP, layering the text just right and everything. Kinda stung but then I realized he's probably right, kids these days have way better meme skills than me. Has anyone else had their work torn apart by a random commenter who clearly knows more?

Maybe set a timer next time. If you spend more than 10-15 minutes on a meme you're overthinking it. Kids that age have zero filter but they also know what actually lands because they scroll through thousands of these things a day. Take the L, see if there's a kernel of truth in the criticism, and move on. Your next one will be sharper.

You ever see someone spend 40 minutes on a meme and it still bombs? My buddy did that once. He kept tweaking the font, the timing, all that stuff. Kid just replied "cringe" and moved on. The timer idea is solid, honestly. Sometimes you gotta just throw it out there and see.
