Got told my butter robot meme had too much going on in the background
Someone pointed out my last post had three different distractions behind the robot and after I cropped it tighter the existential joke actually landed better, anyone else overthink the layout way more than the actual punchline?

Gotta love how the smallest details can mess up a whole joke. I end up spending more time fixing background clutter than coming up with the punchline half the time.

Read a thing the other day about how comedians actually stage their sets. They go through this whole process, staging each object, checking lighting. @betty126 you're totally right though, the background stuff eats up way more time than the actual writing. I saw this one guy spend two hours moving a single potted plant.
