My butter robot meme went from 15 minutes to a full weekend project

Used to just slap a caption on a screencap and post it, done in 15 minutes. Then I found a fan edit with synced sound effects and now I'm layering audio in Audacity at 2am trying to get the 'pass the butter' line to hit exactly right. Has anyone else fallen down this editing rabbit hole or am I the only one treating this like a film school project?
