The meme format I ignored for a year finally clicked last Tuesday

I used to roll my eyes at those butter robot templates where people just swapped the punchline to complain about their job or their landlord. Seemed lazy to me, been making memes since 2014 so I figured I knew better. Then I saw one where the robot asks about the meaning of life and the answer is just a screenshot of a 2004 Windows error dialog. That got me, actually laughed out loud at 2am in my kitchen in Omaha. I went back through the archives on this sub and found some real gems, especially the ones with the tiny pause before the robot speaks. It hit me that the format is less about the joke itself and more about that moment of quiet confusion we all have. Now I am a sucker for any version that uses the robot asking about butter or existence and ties it to something dumb like a parking ticket. Anyone else have a meme style they wrote off for years before it finally won them over?
